Episode 3 – Wild Goose Breast Salad

This past week we managed to live extremely well by eating weird courtesy of Master Chef Dave Ciminelli. We met up with Dave at his restaurant in Pittston, Pennsylvania where he prepared five separate dishes for us to try on the show.
We’ve taken each of these dishes and made separate episodes out of each of them and we’ll be bringing you them over the next few weeks. We hope you enjoy this next series of episodes.
The first dish by Dave Ciminelli was a Wild Goose Breast Salad poached in chicken au jus and blended with caramelized root vegetables, asian spice, mayo, and served on a friend pita sculpted with roasted garlic and artichoke.
Yes, you read that right. All of that.
Here are some photos from this episode, do what you can not to drool on your screens.
Thanks to Dave Ciminelli and special thanks to Mike Matosky for setting up this rendezvous with some of the best weird food we’ll ever have. We’ve got four more episodes coming so stay tuned, live well, and eat weird.
This episode was produced by Colin Devroe.

I’m not biased…this looks totally awesome. Everything about it rocks – the food, the camera work, Colin: props on making Chris look less wanna-punch-him-in-the-face-ish. Not a fan of goose, but this looked so appetizing.
Can’t wait for next week’s!!

Goose?! That’s not extremely weird or abnormal…..is it? I guess because I am a game bird hunter (pheasant, duck, goose) it is not that weird to me.

JigglyJock: No, goose isn’t that weird, but I didn’t know what I was eating. In my mind, it could have been anything. But stay tuned, they get weirder.

JiggyJock: Something to note too, is the entire premise of the show. “Weird” so some may not be so weird to others. I’m sure that some upcoming episodes you will think are weird, others not so much.
But somewhere, someone probably thinks Duck is something they’d never try. This episode, is for those people.

Ha…duck? duck? goose! Kudos Chris for trying something that you had NO idea what it was…looking forward to more!

Really enjoying this new series and excited to see what’s up next.
Suggestion: If you can find it, you need to try Balut. It’s from Southeast Asia. I had it while in the Philippines.

If you want to live up to the challenge you need to try Balut. It is a common delicacy within in the Asian community. Since your near Pittston check out AAFM they should have it!

Two votes for now for Balut. Hope you can find it where you are; it would be great for the show!
